  We been here different days of the week at different times of the day and have never been disappointed. The food is always hot, fresh & plentiful. Its a treat that they change up the menu a bit.
  
  The wait staff is good ... never have to ask for refills. Only problem we've ever encountered with them was on a Wednesday when there were too many of them standing around blocking where people need to walk and not moving even though they literally looked right at a man walking with a cane trying to navigate around them carrying a plate of food. The thing that I really appreciate is that "thank you" when paying our bill. It's genuine and sincere.

  Oh boy! What to say about Fred's ? First thing I will start off with saying if you are going to attend on this Sunday after church please be advised to carry your patience! The line was out the door literally. Plus there was such a long wait. We waited for a more almost an hour. In the heat because it was so busy there was no room on the inside to wait. Am I glad I waited yes. When we finally got a sat we had a very friendly hostess she helped us decide on what was going to be the best option for our family. There were four children and five adults.
  
  The menu. There was an option for the birthday, and an option for plates. I chose the buffet and I am glad that I did. They had hot roast, fried catfish, peach cobbler, red velvet, homemade Mac and cheese, the only thing that they didn't have that I desired I was fried, they had fried both!!! They had fried chicken and baked chicken. It was all collectible give or take I am a person who likes a little more seasoning so they offer from pepper Frank's red hot sauce and Texas Pete. Very southern by, very hospitable. I will be returning.

  Typical buffet. Waitresses are friendly and helpful. Food is plentiful but just ok. Most sits under warmers too long and is dry.
  
  Still if you are a single it's okay place to take a book and sit in a booth for a couple of hours and graze.
  
  Price is a little high considering the quality and type of food.

  Worse customer service experience! I was literally cussed out by MALE staff at the dessert bar because I requested he change his obviously worn out and dirty vinyl gloves before he handled my food.  After two requests by me the server slammed the ice scoop on the table and walked off shouting  "I ain't taking this Sh-- from these Assh----.
  ALL because I requested he change his obvious worn out vinyl gloves before touching my food!
  Immediately I spoke to the manager who apologized and did the right thing by comping the meal for inappropriate behavior from staff.  My concern is not only poor and inappropriate customer service but staff's likely lack of knowledge for food safety and handling which is basic restaurant 101 and more so important for a bufett  Also to get such a violent outburst from staff  for requesting my food food to be handled safely and cleanly is being the pale and concerning on so many levels.  I am also going to follow up with a complaint with local health department. I will not return to this restaurant or recommend it to others. For the record i have visited before and even have visited the plant city location in the past. So this a long term customer that will not be returning.

  I feel the need to update my review on breakfast alone! After coming here for breakfast buffet a few times, I'm sold that this place is an excellent stop for breakfast. Southern-style foe sure....& you'll walk away with all the fixins! Bacon, hash, sausage, eggs, French toast, home fries.....really the list goes on & on & on.....and tasty too! I definitely recommend coming here for breakfast. It's breakfast buffet goodness.
